Confronted with a stark rockery, the home owners tasked us with creating a front entry garden with inviting curb appeal. Luckily, the stones had been placed in such a way that there were plenty of voids that could be filled with a rich, organic soil mixture, without requiring extensive rock repositioning. The resulting pockets allowed us room to come up with a textural planting scheme that surprises in each season. The flowers in spring and early summer really stimulate the eye after a long, grey, Seattle winter.
